What are Workflows?

Workflows are a powerful product from Copy.ai that allows you to automate and scale any content creation or business process.

What are Steps?

Steps are individual tasks performed within a Workflow. Each step represents a specific function, such as generating text, summarizing content, searching the internet, scraping a website, and more. By combining these actions in a Workflow, you can create a customized content generation process.

What are the available workflow Steps?

Currently, our Workflows consist of four core steps to assist with a variety of tasks in a streamlined fashion:

  • AI Generation: A versatile tool leveraging generative AI models, allowing not only to write but also to edit, review, summarize, extract valuable information, and perform a host of other operational tasks.

  • Scrape: This step is designed to permit the extraction of information from a specified URL.

  • Search: Use this step to search the Internet via a search engine.

  • Translate: Make use of this step to convert text into another language seamlessly.

How do I create a Workflow?

To create a Workflow:

  1. Click on “Add Workflow”

  2. Describe the Workflow you want to create, for example: “Create a Workflow that scrapes a blog URL and summarizes the main points”.

  3. Edit the Workflow by continuing to talk to it or by manually editing a step in the side panel.

  4. Test the Workflow out by clicking on the “Test” button

  5. When satisfied with the results, publish the Workflow to use the “Table” view, as an “API”, or as a “Form”.

How do I edit a Workflow?

You can edit a Workflow in two ways.

  1. Editing a Workflow via conversation: One way is by talking to it via our command bar at the bottom of the screen. You can give it instructions such as “add a step…” or “make the 3rd step write in a friendlier tone”

  2. Editing a Workflow manually: Another way is by manually editing the instructions of a step. You can do this by clicking on the step you’d like to edit and modify the side panel. You can access the outputs of previous steps and Infobase items by typing the “#” symbol.

How do I use a Workflow via the API?

How does the Table View work?

The Table view provides several functionalities and easy access to your Workflow runs:

  • Visualize Workflow runs: See all the Workflow runs at a glance. API and Forms runs will appear automatically.

  • Manual entry: Add a single row and execute runs individually.

  • Bulk upload: Import data using CSV or Excel files.

  • Export: Save all the Workflow runs through exporting.

How does the “Form” work?

The "Form" is a feature automatically integrated into Workflows that have manual inputs. Conveniently, you have the ability to share this form or embed it on your site. Once submitted, the form instantly triggers the associated Workflow.

Upon completion, the form presents two options:

  • Show a static "Thank You" page (which you can customize using our editor).

  • Display outputs of the Workflow run.

Moreover, you have the flexibility to personalize the color of the form's buttons.

Every Workflow initiated via the form will consume credits from your Workspace. As a security measure against misuse, you can establish a rate limit for the form and craft a custom error message to display when this limit gets surpassed.
