Overview

The Find LinkedIn Profile from Email action takes a work email address as input and attempts to locate the corresponding LinkedIn profile for that individual. It leverages additional details like company name or full name to improve the success rate of finding the correct profile. This action is useful for various enrichment use cases such as champion tracking to monitor individuals' career movements, inbound lead processing to categorize and qualify new leads based on their professional profiles, and prospecting campaigns to uncover potential prospects' background information. The action not only finds potential LinkedIn profiles but also verifies that the located profile belongs to the intended person, ensuring accurate results.

Usage Examples

  • Champion Trackers - Use this action to consistently keep track of key individuals within customer accounts by periodically checking their LinkedIn profiles to ensure they are still employed at the same company. This allows you to maintain accurate data on important champions and decision makers.

  • Inbound Lead Processing - When someone signs up for your product or provides their email address at an event, use this action to locate their LinkedIn profile. Having their professional profile data enriches the lead record and aids in qualifying if it is a good lead by providing additional context about their role, company, experience etc.

  • Prospecting - During prospecting workflows, leverage this action to verify and enrich lead/contact records with the latest LinkedIn data. Having an accurate LinkedIn profile connected to each prospect record enables more personalized outreach and opportunity prioritization.

Inputs

  • Email - The work email address of the person whose LinkedIn profile you want to find. [email protected]

  • Additional details - Optional information about the person, such as their company name or other identifying details, to improve the success rate of finding the correct LinkedIn profile. John Doe, Company XYZ

  • Continue if fails - A toggle option that allows the workflow to proceed even if the LinkedIn profile cannot be found for the provided email address. Set to true to continue the workflow, or false to stop on failure.

    • When set to true, there is an Output Message input - this message will be returned whenever a Linkedin Profile is not found.

Advanced Inputs

This action does not have any advanced inputs.

Outputs

The primary output is the URL of the LinkedIn profile that matches the provided email address.

Troubleshooting

  • Input email address doesn't match LinkedIn profile - The action tries its best to find the LinkedIn profile associated with the provided work email address. However, if the found profile doesn't seem to match the email, it won't output that profile. This verification step helps ensure the outputted LinkedIn profile is accurate.

  • Additional context needed to find profile - If just the email address is provided, the action may struggle to identify the correct LinkedIn profile, especially for common names. Providing additional context like the company name or person's full name in the "additional details" field can improve the success rate.

  • LinkedIn profile not found - Sometimes a matching LinkedIn profile may not be found for the given email and context. In this case, you can choose to continue the workflow without the LinkedIn data by toggling on the "continue workflow if fails" option.
