Overview

The Translate Text with AI action allows you to translate any text into a target language with the ability to provide additional context and instructions to inform the translation. It takes the text to be translated as input, along with a target language specification that can be qualified with details like formality level, dialect, or locale vernacular. This enables nuanced translations that account for linguistic variations. The action is useful for efficiently translating content like product pages, documents, reviews, and web content into multiple languages while maintaining localization accuracy.

Usage Examples

  • Bulk Translation - This action is really useful if you need to translate large volumes of content like product pages from one language (e.g. English) into multiple target languages (e.g. 10 languages) in bulk. This saves significant time and money compared to manual translation.

  • Translating Work Documents - You can use this action to translate work documents like one-pagers or other text content into desired languages. This is handy for sharing information across multilingual teams or working with international clients/partners.

  • Translating Web Content - This action allows you to easily translate your website content, including user reviews, into multiple languages for international audiences. This supports internationalizing your web presence.

  • Translating Inbound Queries - If you receive queries or messages in languages you don't understand, this action can translate them into your preferred language (e.g. English) so you can read and respond accordingly.

Inputs

  • Text to Translate - The text that needs to be translated into the target language.

  • Target Language - The language you want to translate the text into and (optionally) additional instructions to shape the output in the target language.

Advanced Inputs

While there are no advanced inputs for this action, the "target language" input allows you to go beyond just specifying the language for translation. You can provide a lot of further instruction to shape the final output:

  • To alter the formality level of the translated text, you can specify something like "workplace German" which will make the translation more formal/professional.

  • To localize the translation to a specific regional dialect/vernacular, you can qualify with instructions like "Castilian Spanish" or "Rioplatense Spanish, be sure to use the local vernacular". This ensures idioms and expressions are translated accordingly.

An example: Input Text: Your father drinks three beers after work every day. Target Language: Castilian Spanish Output: Tu padre se bebe tres cervezas después del trabajo todos los días. vs Input Text: Your father drinks three beers after work every day. Target Language: Rioplatense Spanish. Be sure to use the local vernacular. Output: Tu viejo se toma tres birras después del laburo todos los días.

Outputs

  • Translated Text - This sole output is the text that has been translated from the original language (provided in the text input) into the target language specified. The quality and accuracy of the translation will depend on the complexity of the text and the capabilities of the language model used.

Related Actions

  • Translate Text (DeepL) - Translates text from one language to another specified target language using DeepL as the underlying engine. If DeepL is already deployed and yielding quality results this action is a good alternative to Translate Text With AI.
